Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010

The Commonwealth games is an International multi-sport event which is held every four years and features competitions from members of Commonwealth Nations. India is the official host for the Nineteenth, 2010 Commonwealth Games.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Complex is the main stadium where the opening ceremony will take place. The Stadium named after India's first prime minister. This is the first time the games are being held in India and a second time in Asia after Kuala Lumpur in 1998.

India had put forward the motto of  "New frontiers and friendships". The Official mascot for the games is 'Shera'. The names was derived from a Hindi word sher-which means tiger. Shera signifies power and prowess, the desire to succeed and to be the best. The slogan of the games is "Come out and Play"
